Family and Juvenile Law, Civil and Commercial Litigation, Personal Injury

Elizabeth A. Russell enjoys a broad litigation practice and has represented hundreds of clients in state and federal courts on matters ranging from complex civil litigation to first degree murder. Elizabeth’s extensive and diverse trial experience enables her to provide full-service representation for her clients in civil as well as criminal matters. Driven by a passion for legal and social justice, Elizabeth began her career in her hometown of Franklin, Tennessee concentrating primarily on criminal defense and family law. Over time, she recognized that her advocacy was more effective when it was solution-focused rather than penalty driven. Elizabeth also realized how frequently civil and criminal litigation overlapped and, because most practitioners specialize in one area or the other, there were few lawyers could advise their clients on the implications of both. As her reputation grew, other attorneys in the area began to associate Elizabeth on civil cases when it appeared that their clients may also face criminal exposure. Because of her considerable trial and courtroom experience, Elizabeth is uniquely qualified to provide full-service representation to her clients on all of the issues that affect them, while protecting and maintaining their rights as individuals. Whether it is obtaining an order of protection on behalf of a victim, advocating for civil rights, dividing a business built by spouses, or defending the accused—Elizabeth prides herself on taking the time to help her clients understand the judicial system and the rights and remedies available to them.

Elizabeth is an active member in the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Williamson County Bar Association. In addition to her advocacy work, Elizabeth volunteers her time with pro bono legal clinics and serves as the mock trial coach for Franklin High School in the annual statewide competition hosted by the Tennessee Bar Association.
